Christopher Sorensen represents the Prescott Campus. Originally from Manitowoc, Wisconsin, Christopher is a senior majoring in Aerospace Engineering with a concentration in Aeronautical Engineering and a minor in Systems Engineering.
During his time at Embry-Riddle, Christopher has advanced the student experience through his involvement in multiple activities. He is the current President of the Student Government Association, as well as a Senior Campus Ambassador, chair of the College of Engineering’s Campus Academic Mentors and Lead Orientation Leader.
His club involvement includes serving as Treasurer of the Eagle Volleyball Club, BOLT (Leadership Training) Director of the Rocket Development Lab and Co-Vice President of the Campus Christian Fellowship. He is also a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.
After graduating with his degree, Christopher hopes to work as a systems engineer or project manager. In pursuit of this goal, he interned with Honeywell Aerospace Technologies in a systems engineer role that assisted with testing Boeing’s Flight Management Systems for the Boeing 777 and 787. He plans to intern with the same team again this summer.
Christopher is the recipient of the Dr. Friedrich Straub Memorial Scholarship, which is awarded by the Vertical Flight Society’s Arizona Chapter.
As a delegate, Christopher aims to amplify student voices, particularly in conversations that ultimately impact the student experience.
“My goal is to represent the Prescott Campus student body by sharing their student experience with the board,” he said. “I am most looking forward to seeing the lasting impact that this student voice will have for years to come!”
Outside of class, Christopher enjoys playing sand volleyball and exploring the town of Prescott with his friends.
