Nayome Valerio represents the Singapore Campus. Originally from Manila, Philippines, she is a senior pursuing a degree in Aeronautics with a minor in Aircraft Maintenance Operations.
Nayome is an active contributor on the Singapore Campus through her role as president of the Student Government Association (SGA). She also serves as the Outreach Chairperson for the Women in Aviation ERAU Asia Chapter and has been named to the Embry-Riddle Dean’s List for strong academic performance. She is a recipient of the ERAU Asia Chancellor’s Award.
After graduation, Nayome plans to work in aviation consulting, a role that will allow her to blend her enthusiasm for the aerospace sector with her aptitude for analytical problem-solving. She recently completed an internship at a defense aviation cold spray company to support this goal.
As a delegate, Nayome is eager to make the Singapore Campus experience memorable for all students.
“I genuinely care about the student body, and I see this role as the best way to directly contribute to a positive atmosphere,” she said.
Nayome hopes to gain insight into other Embry-Riddle campuses to better serve Embry-Riddle Asia. She also hopes to highlight successful Singapore Campus initiatives that have already helped to foster a tight-knit and supportive student environment.
“I want to use this opportunity to learn directly from my peers across the university system and understand the most effective ways they run their student governance,” she said. “I will then translate those learnings into concrete improvements for the SGA here at the ERAU Asia campus.”
Outside of class, Nayome enjoys watching old films, campy horror movies and three-hour biopics.
